José Luis Romero Robledo (born January 5, 1945 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish football player and coach.

Career

Before Romero made his first division debut for CE Sabadell in a 6-1 draw against Valencia CF on October 9, 1966 , he played for CP Villarrobledo . In 1966 he moved from CD Sabadell to the Tercera División club Deportivo Xerez , with whom he rose to the Segunda División in 1967 . From 1968 he played again for CE Sabadell, who played their best season ever in the 1968/69 season: they finished fourth in the first Spanish league and thus qualified for the Messestädte Cup . In 1970 he signed a contract with FC Barcelona . Romero won in his only season 1970/71 with FC Barcelona as a player the Copa de SE El Generalísimo and the trade fair cup in 1971. In the following season he played again for CE Sabadell. From 1972 to 1975 he was at Espanyol Barcelona and from 1975 to 1976 at FC Burgos .

His first coaching position was FC Barcelona B in the 1979 season . From 1980 he trained CE Sabadell for a year . In March 1983 he took over the coaching position at FC Barcelona for a game in the 1-1 draw against UD Salamanca after Udo Lattek was dismissed. He later coached other top division clubs such as Real Oviedo , CD Logroñés , Atlético Madrid , CE Sabadell, Betis Sevilla and FC Cádiz . With the latter two clubs he rose from the Spanish first division in 1991 and 1993, respectively.
