José María Ignacio Montes de Oca y Obregón (born June 26, 1840 in Guanajuato , Mexico , † August 19, 1921 ) was Bishop of San Luis Potosí .

Life

José María Ignacio Montes de Oca y Obregón received on 28 February 1863, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 6, 1871, Pope Pius IX appointed him . as Bishop of Ciudad Victoria-Tamaulipas . Pope Pius IX donated him episcopal ordination on March 12 of the same year . The inauguration took place on June 8, 1871. Pope Leo XIII. appointed him on September 19, 1879 Bishop of Linares o Nueva León . The inauguration took place on June 2, 1880. On November 13, 1884 Leo XIII appointed him. to the Bishop of San Luis Potosí. The inauguration took place on February 14, 1885.

On May 7, 1920 Pope Benedict XV appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Caesarea Ponti .
