José Prida y Solares

José Prida y Solares (born January 6, 1889 in Torazo , Cabranes , Asturias, † February 1, 1984 in Asturias) was a Spanish-Chilean painter .

Little is known about the living conditions in Prida. He joined the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Santiago in 1910 and, as a pupil of Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor, is assigned to the group of painters of the Generacion del Trece . A solo exhibition of his works took place at the turn of the year 1912–1913 in the Sala del Mercurio . In 1916 he returned to Spain. He left part of his work to the painters Abelardo Bustamante and Ulises Vásquez . The paintings Parque Forestal , Terraza and Rincón de Parque are in the possession of the Art Gallery of the Universidad de Concepción .
