Josef Brenner (politician)

Josef Brenner (born September 8, 1899 in Niederfischbach , † May 3, 1967 in Koblenz ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Brenner initially worked as a businessman and worked in the police service from 1922 to 1925. After further training, in 1927 he became managing director of the Association of Christian Workers Disabled, Widows and Orphans. From 1929 until he was dismissed by the National Socialists in 1933, he was District Secretary of the German Waterways Union . During the time of National Socialism he was a commercial representative in wholesale and retail.

He founded an independent retail company as well as a wholesaler, took over its management and finally became the company's general director. From 1947 he was president of the retail trade association in Rhineland-Palatinate and from 1952/53 he was vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Koblenz .

Brenner was a member of the Center Party until 1933 . In 1941 he became a member of the NSDAP ( membership number 8.952.233). After the end of the war he took part in the founding of the CDP , from which the Rhineland-Palatinate state association of the CDU emerged in 1946.

Brenner was elected to the Koblenz City Council in 1946. In 1946/47 he was a member of the Advisory State Assembly and then until 1951 a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament . In the state parliament he was a member of the budget and finance committee, social policy committee and economic and reconstruction committee. He was a member of the German Bundestag from May 5, 1957, when he replaced the late MP Otto Lenz , until the end of the 1957 electoral term. He was drawn into parliament via the Rhineland-Palatinate state list.

In addition, he was co-founder and district chairman of the Koblenz-Montabaur retail association in 1946 and president of the Rhineland-Palatinate retail association from 1947 to 1967 . In 1950 he became a member of the Presidium of the Main Association of German Retailers, in 1953 a member of the board of directors of the German Retail Trade Association, 1951 member and 1952 to 1953 Vice-President of the Koblenz Chamber of Commerce . In 1954 he became a social judge, in 1955 a member of the board of the family compensation fund and chairman of the Koblenzer Verkehrsverein.

Brenner received the Great Federal Cross of Merit .
