Josef Brukner

Josef Brukner (born February 15, 1932 in Písek ; † January 14, 2015 in Prague ) was a Czech writer , translator and screenwriter .

Life

In 1951 he graduated from high school and in 1957 completed dramaturgy at FAMU . In the same year he became an editor at the State Publishing House for children's literature. 1972 then editor of the Czech writers publishing house and since 1990 editor-in-chief of Quendel “Mateřídouška” magazine .

Works

He was a co-author of everyday poetry that appeared in the magazine Mai (Květen) and the author of texts and poems in works by Josef Lada . In addition to his own works, he has translated from Polish , German and French . He was also the editor of the collections of the writers Fráňa Šrámek and Jaroslav Vrchlický .
