Josef Calasanz Platter

Josef Calasanz Platter (born August 17, 1858 in Thums near Sterzing , † March 22, 1905 in Innsbruck ) was a Tyrolean writer and tourism expert.

Life

Platter visited a few years the high school in Brixen and found after a "storm and stress" employment at the Etsch Regulatory Commission in Bolzano . Platter also emerged as a writer at an early age. He wrote fiction, travel guides and, in connection with the Tyrolean provincial exhibition in 1893, as secretary of the Tyrolean Tourism Association, together with the secretary of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce , Anton Kofler, took the view of creating a panorama painting in Innsbruck on the subject of the Tyrolean wars of freedom of 1809 . This giant circular painting from Innsbruck was realized up to the international sports exhibition of 1896.
