Josef Dirnberger

Josef Dirnberger (born February 29, 1872 in Naarn im Mühlkreis ; † July 4, 1937 in Perg , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian sculptor and politician .

Life and work

Dirnberger was married from 1902 and had two children. As a sculptor, Dirnberger worked, among other things, on the renewal of the Perger parish church . His works can also be found in the churches around Perg. Dirnbergerstrasse in Perg is named after him.

politics

Between 1910 and 1934 he was mayor of Perg . During his tenure, today's Hauptschule 1 , the Kegelschmiede power station and the savings bank building were built.

In 1918 the German Nationalists , a grouping of what would later become the Greater German People's Party , sent him to the provisional provincial assembly of Upper Austria , after which he was a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament from 1919 to 1931 . Dirnberger was a good speaker and above all represented the interests of the trade .
