Josef Egele

Josef Egele (born September 15, 1896 in Vandans , † July 2, 1961 in Bludenz ) was an Austrian politician ( VdU ) as well as a farmer and innkeeper. From 1949 to 1954 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Egele attended elementary school in Vandans and worked on her parents' farm until 1915. He served in World War I from April 15, 1915 and was taken prisoner in Italy, from which he returned in August 1919. He took over his parents 'farm and graduated from the agricultural college in Mehrerau from 1924 to 1926 , but had to give up his parents' farm in 1928 due to his war injury in March 1928. He was then employed by the Vorarlberg Farmers' Chamber from 1928 to 1930 and then worked from 1930 to 1934 as a teacher at the agricultural college in Mehrerau. Then he was from 1934 to 1939 employee of the consumer cooperative in Innsbruck and from 1939 to 1946 employee of the state farmers in Innsbruck. Most recently he worked as a farmer and innkeeper on his parents' farm from 1946 to 1957, although he had to close the family business in 1957.

Politics and functions

Egele was a member of the local council and council of Vandans from 1924 to 1934 and was a member of the local council and council of Vandans between 1950 and 1955 after the Second World War. As a member of the Bludenz constituency, he represented the Association of Independents in the Vorarlberg state parliament between October 25, 1949 and October 28, 1954 and was a member of the agricultural committee. He was a co-founder of Raiffeisenkasse Vandans and its board member, co-founder of the Vandans dairy cooperative and co-founder of the Vandans cattle breeding association. He was active as chairman of the Lünersee alpine interest group, acted as chairman of the Montafon farmers' association and was a member of the board of the association of agricultural cooperatives and the Alma in Bregenz . He was also chairman of the graduate association of the agricultural college in Mehrerau and a member of the district school council in Bludenz .

Private

Egele was born the son of the farmer Anton Egele (1861-1903) and his wife Maria Rosina Egele, née Ganahl (1857-1921), both of his parents coming from Vandans. He married Franziska Zeh (1894–1949) on November 19, 1936 and had a daughter who was born in 1937. After the early death of his wife, Egele married Anna Jehle on July 17, 1950, who had three sons between 1951 and 1953.
