Josef Franz Leppa

Josef Franz Leppa (* 1901 in Bohemian Budweis , † 1980 in Pförring near Eichstätt ) was a Sudeten German writer , journalist and military historian . He published many of his research results under his pseudonym Konrad Leppa . His older brother was the writer Karl Franz Leppa .

Life

Josef Franz Leppa grew up as the son of a teacher in South Bohemia . After studying in Vienna , he was awarded a doctorate in philosophy (Dr. phil.) In 1926 . He then became a lecturer at the Adam Kraft publishing house in Karlsbad . Leppa also worked for military science magazines with numerous publications on the history of the First World War and the first half of the 20th century under his pseudonym Konrad Leppa .

In the autumn of 1938 Josef Franz Leppa came to the Reich Labor Service in Berlin and was most recently Oberstfeldmeister in the RAD management for its history. His private archive in Budweis was confiscated in 1945 by the Czechoslovak authorities for the Military Science Institute in Prague . During the expulsion of the Germans from Czechoslovakia after the end of the Second World War , Josef Franz Leppa fled to Bavaria .
