Josef Gallmeier

Josef Gallmeier (born December 6, 1906 in Munich , † April 13, 1980 in Landshut ) was a German politician of the BVP and later the CSU .

Life

Gallmeier learned the trade of a businessman, attended a commercial college and worked in the food industry until 1940. He served in World War II . From 1945 to 1948 the Office for Food and Agriculture in Landshut.

Gallmeier had been a member of the BVP since 1926. In 1945 he took part in the founding of the district association of the CSU in Landshut, where he was chairman from 1947 to 1963. From 1946 to 1948 he held the office of Lord Mayor of Landshut. In 1948 he was elected to the Landshut city council, where he was chairman of his parliamentary group for a while. From 1953 to 1961 he was a member of the CSU state executive. On January 27, 1965, he replaced the late Ludwig Ramelsberger in the Bavarian State Parliament, to which he was a member until the end of the 1966 electoral term.
