Josef Gamsjäger

Josef Gamsjäger (born March 12, 1904 in Neuberg an der Mürz in Styria , † September 16, 1996 in Kindberg ) was an Austrian politician of the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ).

education and profession

After attending the elementary school and the community school, attended a workers' college and made the official high school diploma . He learned the trade of industrial worker. In 1923 he joined the administrative service of the municipality of Mürzzuschlag . He later became a city councilor .

In 1934, during the Austro-Fascist corporate state , Josef Gamsjäger had to be remanded in custody . He spent his political imprisonment in the Messendorf detention center near Graz .
