Josef Hannich

Josef Hannich (born June 23, 1843 in Rosenthal near Reichenberg , † August 19, 1934 in Vienna ) was a Bohemian- Austrian politician ( Social Democratic Party of Austria ), cloth maker, journalist and worker poet . He was a member of the Austrian House of Representatives .

Life

Josef Hannich was born the son of a master tailor in Rosenthal near Reichenberg. He was baptized a Catholic and first attended elementary school. From 1872 to 1882 he worked as an editor of the newspaper "Arbeiterfreund" in Reichenberg and from 1886 to 1891 he was editor of the newspaper "Volksfreund" or "Arbeiterstimme" in Brno . Afterwards he worked between 1891 and 1905 as editor of the "Nordböhmischen Volksbote" in Steinschönau . Between 1882 and 1883, Hannich was imprisoned for three months because of "secret bundling". In 1897 he took part in the Reichsrat election in the constituency of the "general electoral class" in the area of ​​the city of Reichenberg and was elected to the House of Representatives. He was subsequently able to defend his mandate in the 1901 Reichsrat election, but subsequently resigned his mandate in September 1905. In the Reichsrat election in 1907 , Hannich ran again, this time in the newly created electoral district of Bohemia 99 , where he was able to prevail in the runoff election against the candidate of the Christian Social Party. He subsequently remained a member of the House of Representatives until 1911, where he ran again in the 1911 electoral district of Bohemia in the 1911 election, but this time lost in the runoff election to the challenger of the Christian Social Party.
