Josef "Seppl" Hogenkamp († 1944 ) was a German football player .

Career

The left half-forward Josef Hogenkamp began his career at Arminia Bielefeld . With the Arminia he won the Westphalia Cup in 1932 and a year later the Westphalia champion. In the 4-2 win in the play-off against SpVgg Herten , he scored two goals. In 1934, Hogenkamp and the Bielefeld team were relegated from the Gauliga Westfalen and four years later managed to rise again. Meanwhile, the captain ascended Hogenkamp led the Arminia in 1940 to runners-Westphalia Gauliga behind FC Schalke 04 . In addition, he was regularly appointed to the Westphalia team. In the course of the Second World War , the soldier Hogenkamp moved to Eintracht Braunschweig in 1941 . With Eintracht he became champions of the Gauliga Südhannover-Braunschweig both in 1943 and 1944 and took part in the final round of the German championship against Wilhelmshaven 05 in 1944. In the same year he died in the war.
