Josef Krempl (writer)

Josef Krempl (born February 11, 1862 in Obertrattnach , Upper Austria , † April 4, 1914 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer . He wrote dialect poems and worked as a folk writer and editor.

The farmer's son Josef Krempl joined the Steyr weapons factory in 1894 after years of apprenticeship and traveling in Germany, France and Switzerland. There he became head of the paint shop. He wrote dramatic works for the Steyr City Theater. In 1901 he moved to Linz and took over the editing of the newspaper “Deutscher Michl”. From 1909 he lived in Graz, later in Vienna.
