Josef Lavos
Josef Lavos (born July 29, 1807 in Vienna ; † October 8, 1848 there ) was an Austrian painter and lithographer of Hungarian descent.
Lavos was born the son of a ballet music director at the Leopoldstädter Theater .
Josef Lavos studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in Sankt Annahof with Karl Gsellhofer .
From 1828 Lavos exhibited his works - genre paintings, religious subjects and portraits in oil, the latter also in miniature and lithography - in the Sankt Annahof. In 1848 Lavos became a member of the Vienna Academic Legion (March 13 - May 25, 1848). On October 8, 1848, he took his own life.
