Josef Maria Schönfelder
Josef Maria Schönfelder (born June 8, 1838 in Forchheim , † July 23, 1913 in Munich ) was a German Catholic theologian .
Life
He studied theology and philosophy at the royal lyceum in Bamberg and the LMU Munich . After graduating as Dr. theol. In 1860 (Munich) he became professor of theology in Hildesheim in 1866 . In 1867 he became vicar in St. Kajetan . After habilitation in 1869 for the subject of exegesis by the Faculty of Theology of the University of Munich, where a lecturer he was in 1871 preacher in St. Michael . From 1873 he taught as an associate professor , and from 1874 as a full professor of Old Testament exegesis and biblical languages at the LMU Munich. In 1883 he became canon in St. Kajetan. From 1887 to 1888 he was the rector of the LMU Munich. In 1903 he retired .
