Josef Maria Schönfelder

Josef Maria Schönfelder (born June 8, 1838 in Forchheim , † July 23, 1913 in Munich ) was a German Catholic theologian .

Life

He studied theology and philosophy at the royal lyceum in Bamberg and the LMU Munich . After graduating as Dr. theol. In 1860 (Munich) he became professor of theology in Hildesheim in 1866 . In 1867 he became vicar in St. Kajetan . After habilitation in 1869 for the subject of exegesis by the Faculty of Theology of the University of Munich, where a lecturer he was in 1871 preacher in St. Michael . From 1873 he taught as an associate professor , and from 1874 as a full professor of Old Testament exegesis and biblical languages ​​at the LMU Munich. In 1883 he became canon in St. Kajetan. From 1887 to 1888 he was the rector of the LMU Munich. In 1903 he retired .
