Josef Moser (newspaper publisher)

Josef Moser (born April 1, 1918 as Josef Holbe in St. Gallen , Switzerland; † April 8, 1993 in Zirl , Tyrol) was an Austrian newspaper publisher .

He was one of the co-founders of the Tiroler Tageszeitung and served there for many years as publisher and editor-in-chief. After the cooperation with Axel Springer Verlag in 1989, Moser gradually stepped down from management and editor-in-chief. But he remained editor of the newspaper and chairman of the board of directors of Moser Holding . Moser was President of the Association of Austrian Newspaper Publishers and Newspaper Publishers (V.Ö.Z.) and a co-founder of the Austria Press Agency (APA). The name variant Joseph Stephan Moser can also be found in the imprint of the companies named after him and in non-official correspondence.
