Josef "Sepp" Noggler (born March 10, 1957 in Mals ) is an Italian politician from South Tyrol .

biography

Noggler graduated from the Beda Weber Classic Lyceum in Merano and studied forestry at the University of Padua ( laurea in scienze forestali ). In 1991 he was elected mayor of Mals for the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP), and in 2000 he was also elected president of the Vinschgau district community . In the 2008 elections , Noggler entered the South Tyrolean state parliament with 7,196 preferential votes and thus also the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . In the 2013 state elections , he was able to defend his mandate with 12,690 preferential votes. In the following legislative period he served as assessor and from 2016 as vice-president in the regional government of Trentino-South Tyrol . In the state elections in 2018 , he won a third mandate with 10,093 preferential votes. On January 25, 2019, he was elected President of the State Parliament, a short time later also as Vice President of the Regional Council.
