Historical meaning
In the South Tyrolean state elections in 2013, the South Tyrolean People's Party lost the absolute majority of seats for the first time since 1948, but remained the relatively strongest party in the state parliament with 45.7 percent of voter consensus. The regional opposition parties Die Freiheitliche , Verdi Grüne Vërc and Süd-Tiroler Freiheit were each able to win an additional mandate compared to the state elections in 2008. The parties of the Italian right and center-right camp ( Lega Nord , Popolo della Libertà , Unitalia , La Destra ) were the big losers in this election. You had entered with four separate lists, but of five mandates in 2008 only two were able to hold the list representatives of Team Autonomie and L'Alto Adige nel cuore . This shift in voters , which had mainly taken place in the direction of non-voters , had a major impact on the ethnic composition of the state parliament: the number of Italian-speaking MPs fell from the previous eight to the historical minimum of five. A party-political novelty was the MoVimento 5 Stelle list , which in 2013 was the only newcomer among the parties to enter the state parliament for the first time.
