Josef Schermann (* 1952 in Pilgersdorf ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian , liturgist, religious educator and professor i. R. at the "Church Educational University - Edith Stein" .

Life

Josef Schermann studied Catholic theology ( independent religious education course ) and German at the University of Innsbruck . There he completed his studies with a graduation as Mag. Theol. 1978 on, it was followed by promotion to the doctorate in theology in 1984 with Hans Bernhard Meyer . He then worked as a university assistant at the Institute for Liturgical Science of the Theological Faculty of Innsbruck with a focus on liturgical science and New Testament - Bible theology, at the same time as a religion professor at secondary schools, such as the commercial school with advanced courses and the commercial academy in Telfs . He worked as a pedagogical assistant at RPI Innsbruck and professor at the Religious Education Academy of the Diocese of Innsbruck in Stams, then as professor for specialist science and specialist didactics of theology, for practical school studies at the IRPB Innsbruck-Stams, the KPH Edith Stein with the following areas of responsibility:

  • Bible, liturgy and parish catechesis, parish pedagogy and parish internship (theology and specialist didactics);
  • Introduction to scientific and practical work; Practice support; Coordination of the advanced course and the advanced training courses;
  • Public relation; EPICT.
  • Head of continuing education courses for religion at compulsory schools and supplementary courses for religion at vocational schools ("BPA course").

In the field of training (in the Stams study center) he has been active since 1995, in further and advanced training (Stams, Innsbruck, RPI) since 1989. In 2017 Josef Schermann retired.

Schermann has been a volunteer in Pfaffenhofen (Tyrol) as a councilor and deputy mayor since 2016 .
