Josef Schmidt (politician, 1939)

Josef Schmidt (born February 3, 1939 in Rettenbach ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and party employee. From 1983 to 1993, Schmidt was Provincial Councilor of the Burgenland State Government .

Schmidt was born in Bernstein as the son of the miner and later employee of the Burgenland regional health insurance fund Josef Schmidt . After primary school in Rettenbach, he attended the Bundesrealgymnasium in Oberschützen and then the Oberwart commercial school . He then worked as a commercial clerk in Vienna and from 1972 was HR manager at Saniped in Großpetersdorf . From 1977 onwards, Schmidt was politically active as district party secretary of the SPÖ-Oberwart.

Schmidt was sworn in as a member of the state council on July 11, 1983 and remained in this position until March 18, 1993, when Schmidt resigned from his mandate. He belonged to the state government Kery V , Sipötz and Stix I to.
