The provincial government Kery V under governor Theodor Kery (SPÖ) forms the Burgenland provincial government from the election by the Burgenland Landtag in the XII. Legislative period on October 29, 1982 until the inauguration of the Sipötz state government on October 30, 1987.

The provincial government of Burgenland consisted of seven people for the first time after the state elections in 1982 and was expanded by one person compared to the previous provincial governments. Four of the seven representatives were from the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), three people were members of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). After the state elections in 1982, the government continued its work almost unchanged in terms of personnel. Only Karl Stix was added as a new member. Helmuth Vogl (SPÖ) resigned from his post on July 11, 1983, and Josef Schmidt was elected to the regional council on the same day .

Regional Councilor Gerald Mader also resigned from the state government on November 19, 1984. On November 19, Johann Sipötz (SPÖ) was re-elected as regional councilor for him . After Rudolf Grohotolsky (ÖVP) withdrew on January 26, 1986, the former Deputy Governor Franz Sauerzopf was re-elected to this office on January 27, 1986 . Josef Wiesler (ÖVP) resigned from his position on March 18, 1987, and Paul Rittsteuer (ÖVP) succeeded him on March 19, 1987 as regional councilor.
