State election in Burgenland 1982
The state election in Burgenland 1982 was carried out on October 3, 1982 and was the 14th state election in the Austrian state of Burgenland . In the election, the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ) was able to increase its share of the vote for the eighth time in a row and achieved a share of 53.2% with an increase of 1.3%. The SPÖ thus held its 20 of a total of 36 mandates. In contrast to the SPÖ, the ÖVP lost its share of the vote for the sixth time in a row and suffered a drop of 2.1%. Nevertheless, the ÖVP was able to keep its 16 mandates with 43.0%.
