The provincial government Niessl II forms the Burgenland provincial government from the election by the Burgenland Landtag in the XIX. Legislative period on October 25, 2005 up to the inauguration of the Niessl III state government on June 24, 2010.

On December 11, 2008, Werner Falb-Meixner replaced the previous Agricultural Councilor Nikolaus Berlakovich after he had switched to the Faymann I government . Werner Falb-Meixner resigned on April 30, 2011, after the Supreme Court had confirmed his judgment for abuse of office, from his position as regional councilor for agriculture. Andreas Liegenfeld became
his successor on May 11, 2011 .
