The provincial government of Walheim II under Governor Alfred Walheim formed the Burgenland provincial government in the fourth legislative period from the election of Walheim as governor on November 25, 1931 to the election of Hans Sylvester as governor on February 22, 1934. Walheim's predecessor as governor Anton Schreiner was on 28 October 1931 resigned from his office and was initially entrusted with the continuation of business. On November 25, 1931, Walheim was elected as the new governor, Hans Sylvester moved up as a regional councilor. After the outbreak of civil war in 1934, the federal government banned the authoritarian corporate state under Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss , the Social Democratic Party and backed by a regulation on March 12, 1934, the expiration of the mandates of the regional ministers and deputies of the Social Democratic Party firmly. As a result, Deputy Governor Ludwig Readers and Provincial Councilor Ignaz Till lost their offices on March 12th.
