Anton Schreiner
Anton Schreiner (born September 19, 1873 in Neudörfl , † May 23, 1932 in Walbersdorf ) was an Austrian brick factory owner and politician ( CS ). Schreiner was married, a member of the Burgenland Landtag , governor and member of the National Council .
life and work
Anton Schreiner was born as the son of butcher and innkeeper Matthias Schreiner from Neudörfl. He attended elementary school in Wiener Neustadt and secondary school in Sopron , where he passed his Matura in 1893. Schreiner then moved to the Austro-Hungarian Technical Military Academy in Vienna and became a lieutenant in 1896 . He served in the fortress artillery regiment No. 1 in Vienna and was in reserve from 1901. Schreiner subsequently managed the property in Walbersdorf, which included a brick factory and an economy. During the First World War , Schreiner served as captain of the reserve between 1914 and 1918 and was most recently the fortress commander in Pola for the Stoja tank fort and the Obina and Verdulla coastal batteries. From the beginning of 1918 until the end of the war, Schreiner was a teacher of artillery and gunnery at the Technical Military Academy in Mödling and then moved back to Walbersdorf.
In 1921 he was a member of the steering committee of the Christian Social Party for West Hungary in 1921 and in 1922 a member of the administrative office for Burgenland . From 1924 to 1931 he served as a member of the Burgenland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and between July 24, 1929 and his death, he was the regional party leader of the Christian Social Party. From January 10, 1928 to July 24, 1929, Schreiner was governor of the Schreiner I state government and from December 10, 1930 to October 28, 1931, he was governor of the Schreiner II state government . Schreiner was also a member of the National Council between December 2, 1930 and January 23, 1931. After that, from December 5, 1930, Schreiner was a member of the state parliament; He was shot on May 23, 1932 by Stephan Zeltner from Rohrbach , a former worker in Schreiner's brickworks, whom he urged to retaliate for the dismissal of his brother.
