Johann Thullner

Johann Thullner (born August 29, 1880 in Mosonszolnok , Hungary ; † June 9, 1937 in Neusiedl am See , Burgenland , Austria ) was a Hungarian-Austrian clergyman and a politician active in Austria .

Life

Early life

Johann Thullner graduated from elementary school and grammar school and began studying theology in Győr . At the age of 24, Thullner was ordained a priest in 1904 .

Thullner then worked as a chaplain in several Austrian and Hungarian parishes , including Markt Sankt Martin , Wieselburg , Tata and Mosonmagyaróvár . In 1916 he became cathedral chaplain in Sopron , and three years later, in 1919, pastor in Neusiedl am See. In 1931 he was inducted into the office of prelate .

Political career

Thullner also began a career as a politician around 1920. In 1922 he joined the CSP , from which he was sent as a member of the Austrian National Council in July 1922 . After leaving the National Council in November 1923, Thullner became a member of the Austrian Federal Council from January 1924 to May 1927 . At the same time he took over the agenda of the President of the Federal Council between June and November 1925.

In 1927 Thullner was sent as a member of the Burgenland Landtag . Here, too, he took on a number of offices over the next few years. Between 1927 and 1929 he was a regional councilor before he was elected governor of Burgenland from 1929 to 1930 . Most recently, he was President of the State Parliament from 1930 to 1933.

Nothing is known about the life of Johann Thullner after 1933. He died four years later, at only 56 years old.
