Hans Morawitz

Hans Morawitz (born February 1, 1893 in Donaufeld ; † August 3, 1966 in Hanover ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ). Morawitz was from 1921 to 1922 a member of the Lower Austrian Landtag and from 1923 to 1925 a member of the National Council and President of the Burgenland Landtag .

After elementary school, Morawitz attended the community school and learned the trade of a locksmith . He was involved in the social democratic education and workers' organization in Lower Austria and was party secretary in the Weinviertel. He also worked as an editor for the Volksbote and was chairman of the Austrian Association of Agricultural and Forestry Workers from 1919 to 1925. He represented the Social Democratic Party from May 11, 1921 to September 14, 1923 in the Lower Austrian state parliament and was then a member of the Burgenland state parliament from November 13, 1923 to November 9, 1925 and, from January 4, 1924, President of the Burgenland state parliament. Furthermore, he was a member of the National Council from July 17, 1922 to October 1, 1925, where he resigned from the National Council by waiving his mandate. Within the party, Morawitz was also a member of the Burgenland state party executive, was a state party chairman between May 14, 1922 and December 8, 1924, and represented the Burgenland Social Democrats between 1922 and 1923 in the Reichsparty's executive committee. Morawitz resigned from the Social Democratic Party on November 25, 1925 and left Austria on February 27, 1934.

Morawitz married for the first time in Vienna in 1918 and married for the second time in The Hague in 1942. His father Johann Morawitz worked as a binder and later as a consumer worker in Vienna.
