Johann Hautzinger

Johann Hautzinger (born June 24, 1909 in Tadten ; † December 8, 1973 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Hautzinger was married, from 1949 to 1964 a member of the Burgenland Landtag , President of the Landtag and from 1964 to 1968 a member of the Federal Council .

Life

Johann Hautzinger was born as the son of the farmer Martin Hautzinger from Tadten and attended elementary school in Tadten. He also graduated from the farmer's school in Nickelsdorf and subsequently worked as a farmer, from 1933 as an independent farmer.

politics

Hautzinger became politically active from 1935 and was a member of the district management of the Fatherland Front in Neusiedl am See . After the National Socialists came to power in 1938, Hautzinger was persecuted politically and had to do military service between 1940 and 1945, although he was indispensable between 1942 and 1943 . After the Second World War , Hautzinger became involved in the newly founded ÖVP and was local party leader of Tadten from 1946 to 1956. Within the party, he also held the function of a member of the ÖVP district party leadership in Neusiedl am See. Between November 4, 1949 and May 26, 1964, he represented the ÖVP in the Burgenland Landtag, and was the third president of the Landtag between June 11, 1956 and April 17, 1964. He then held the office of President of the State Parliament from April 17, 1964 to May 26, 1964. After leaving Parliament, Hautzinger was a member of the Federal Council from May 26, 1964 to April 17, 1968. Hautzinger was also district farmers' union chairman in the Neusiedl am See district from 1955 to 1968 and, from 1964, ÖVP regional chairman deputy. He was also active in farming cooperatives, associations and organizers. From 1964 to 1972 he was President of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture .
