The provincial government Kery I under Governor Theodor Kery (SPÖ) formed the Burgenland provincial government from the resignation of Hans Bögl (SPÖ) as governor on June 28, 1966 until the inauguration of the provincial government Kery II on May 14, 1968.

After Hans Bögl's resignation, the previous Provincial Councilor Theodor Kery was elected as the new Governor on June 28, 1966. On the same day, Fred Sinowatz (SPÖ), a member of the state parliament, took over his position as regional councilor . Regional Councilor Stefan Billes also resigned from the state government that day and was replaced by Helmuth Vogl (SPÖ). The members of the ÖVP government remained unchanged from the previous government.
