Helmuth Vogl

Helmuth Vogl (born September 2, 1928 in Erl ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and trade unionist. Vogl was a member of the Burgenland state parliament and from 1966 to 1983 regional councilor in the Burgenland state government.

Life

Vogl attended elementary school in Erl and secondary school in Jenbach and Zell am Ziller . He then moved to the Innsbruck Commercial Academy , where he graduated from high school in 1946. He then studied at the University of World Trade in Vienna and completed his undergraduate studies in 1949 with the academic degree Dkfm. from. In 1951 he graduated as Dr. rer.comm. Vogl then worked from February 1, 1951 as an economics advisor to the Chamber of Labor in Burgenland and was Deputy Chamber Office Director from 1957 to 1961.

Vogl became involved as a councilor in Eisenstadt in 1956 and was a member of the Burgenland state executive of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions from 1957 . He was also a member of the board of directors of BEWAG from 1958 and from 1962 took over the position of commercial director at BEWAG full-time. From 1960 he was also managing director of the Burgenland Oil Company. After his election to the state government, Vogl took a leave of absence as director and resigned as a board member. However, he continued to work as a consultant for BEWAG. In addition, from 1970 he was active in the Verbundgesellschaft. From June 28, 1966 to July 11, 1983, Vogl was regional councilor in the Burgenland state government, where he was responsible for finance and construction. He was also a member of the state parliament at times and campaigned strongly for the Burgenland expressway (S 31). In 1993 he was convicted in the follow-up process of the so-called "Causa Sinowatz" for false testimony.
