Peter Rezar

Peter Rezar (born January 14, 1956 in Fehring ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1999 to 2015 he was regional councilor of the Burgenland provincial government in the provincial governments Niessl II and Niessl III for social affairs and health. From July 9, 2015 to February 17, 2020 he was a member of the Burgenland State Parliament .

education and profession

Peter Rezar attended elementary school in Jennersdorf from 1962 and 1966 and then from 1966 to 1970 the secondary school in Oberschützen . Then Rezar switched to the Feldbach Commercial Academy , where he graduated from high school in 1975. After graduating from high school, Rezar studied law at the University of Graz until 1981 and received his doctorate as '' Dr. iur. ''

After his legal internship at the Jennersdorf District Court in 1981, Rezar was a contract clerk at the Burgenland Provincial Government from 1981 to 1985. In 1985, Rezar became a civil servant, and in 1995 he was appointed senior government councilor.

politics

Peter Rezar has been local party chairman of the SPÖ Oberpullendorf since 1988 and was district party chairman of Oberpullendorf from 1990 to 2016. From 1997 to 1999 he was a member of the local council of the municipality of Oberpullendorf and from June 1990 to July 1991 represented the SPÖ as a member of the Federal Council. He then moved into the Burgenland state parliament and was elected chairman of the state parliament club in 1991.

From May 19, 1999, Rezar was a member of the Burgenland provincial government. His portfolio included the areas of hospitals, health, food supervision, social affairs, old people's homes and nursing homes, home nursing / social services, youth welfare and employee support. He was followed in 2015 by Norbert Darabos as Regional Councilor for Social Affairs and Health. From July 9, 2015, he was again a member of the Burgenland state parliament, after the state election in 2020 he left the state parliament.

Rezar has been the regional party chairman of the SPÖ Burgenland since 1992 and was elected President of the ARBÖ Burgenland in 1993 .

Peter Rezar also has a liberal past. In his youth he was a member of the management team of the RFJ -Burgenland.

He has been President of the ARBÖ in Austria since 2018 .

Private

Rezar has been married since 1983 and has a son (* 1985) and a daughter (* 1986).
