Josef Vlastimil Kamarýt
Josef Vlastimil Kamarýt (born January 20, 1797 in Velešín , † March 19, 1833 in Tábor ) was a Czech Catholic clergyman and national poet.
Kamarýt, who came from a family of bakers, attended grammar school in Budweis and learned the writer and journalist František Ladislav Čelakovský and others during school . a. Professor at the Charles University in Prague , and a close friendship developed.
Kamaryt subsequently worked as a priest in Klokoty near Tábor and, under a strong patriotic influence, took on the nickname Vlastimil. He dedicated himself particularly to collecting Czech folk poetry and sacred songs. He published his own poems in magazines and various almanacs. He died on March 19, 1833 at the age of 36, before his literary talent could fully develop.
Josef Vlastimil is the brother of the edification writer Franz Dobromil Kamaryt, (* on January 27, 1812 in Weleschin, † on April 30, 1876 in Kaplitz in the Bohemian Forest). On February 23, 2000, the house where she was born in Weleschin burned down.
