Josef Wolffram

Johann Jakob Josef Wolffram (born March 22, 1910 in Geldern ; † November 11, 2001 in Cologne ) was a German lawyer .

From 1929 to 1933 he studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin and Bonn . After successfully passing his exams, he entered the judicial service in 1936. In 1939 he became a judge in Wuppertal , 1950 in Kleve and 1950 judge at the Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf . Because of his outstanding skills and achievements, he was appointed to the highest judicial offices and worked in the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia .

From 1962 to 1975 he was President of the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, from 1963 to 1975 Vice President of the Constitutional Court of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Following his active career, he worked for many years in the Cologne Cathedral Building Association. In addition, Josef Wolffram was honorary chairman of the board of the St. Marien Hospital Foundation, Cologne's most traditional hospital, for nine years .
