Tounj [touɲ] is a municipality in central Croatia between Ogulin and Generalski Stol in the Karlovac County , in the east on the territory of Korduns borders and on the historically significant Josephine Street is (Josephina, Jozefina) - a former Salt Road that from Karlovac runs to Senj and connects central Croatia with the coast.
The municipality is a scattered settlement typical of this area , consisting of Tounj itself and the following hamlets : Linije, Zdenac, Petrova Draga, Gerovo Tounjsko, Bistrac, Potok Tounjski, Stanišići, Tržić Tounjski, Ključ, Rebrovići, Ćeti, Meašići, Filipoviići , Orljak, Borovci, Capani, Brletići, Kamenica Skradnička, Kamenica, Kukača, Košare and Matešići.
The most important sight is the two-story stone bridge over the Tounjčica River , which rises in the village. The largest explored cave in Croatia is among others. a. also within the municipality, but has not yet been developed for tourism. The most important culinary specialty is Tounj cheese ( Croat . Tounjski sir ), a smoked cow's raw milk cheese , in whose honor the Tounj Cheese Day takes place every year in October.
