Josef Zimmermann (life dates unknown) was a German football player .
Career
Zimmermann belonged to Holstein Kiel as a defender , for whom he played points games from 1928 to 1931 in the championships organized by the North German Football Association , at the beginning in the round of ten and from the 1929/30 season in the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein . Due to the regional successes - twice second placed in the final round in the context of the North German Championship and once as North German Champion - he also took part with the team in the respective finals for the German Championship . He played his first of six final round matches on June 16, 1926 in Hamburg in the 1-6 defeat in the round of 16 against 1. FC Nürnberg . In the 1929/30 season he and his team reached the final, which was lost on June 22nd at the Rheinstadion in Düsseldorf 4-5 against Hertha BSC . His last final round game ended on May 10, 1931 in the home stadium in a 3-2 victory over SV Prussia-Samland Königsberg .
