Josefina Rodríguez de Aldecoa (born March 8, 1926 in La Robla, León province , † March 16, 2011 in Mazcuerras, Cantabria ) was a Spanish writer .

Life and accomplishments

Josefina Rodríguez de Aldecoa moved from her hometown of La Robla to Madrid in 1944 , where she received her PhD in philosophy and literature . In 1952 she married Ignacio Aldecoa . In 1959 she founded the “Colegio Estilo” in Madrid, inspired by the educational ideas of Krausismo, and in 1961 published the collection of the short stories “Nirgendwohin”.

She then quit writing for 20 years and took up novels such as Die Kinder des Krieg (1983), Die Schlingpflanze (1984), Because We Were Young (1986) or The Garden (1988) again. In 1990 she began a trilogy with autobiographical content with the novel The Story of a Teacher (1990), Women in Black (1994) and The Power of Fate (1997).

In 1998 she wrote the essay Confessions of a Grandmother , in which she deals with the relationship and the lived experiences with her grandson. Two years later she published Fever , an anthology of stories she had written between 1950 and 1990 and, in 2002, Das Rätsel , a novel about love.

Josefina Rodríguez de Aldecoa died on March 16, 2011 in Mazcuerras.
