Joseph-Antoine Lang

Joseph-Antoine Lang SMA (born September 22, 1868 in Niederschaeffolsheim , † January 2, 1912 ) was Apostolic Vicar of Costa di Benin .

Life

Lang joined the Society of Africa Missions and was ordained a priest on July 19, 1891 .

Pope Leo XIII. appointed him on July 23, 1902 Vicar Apostolic of Costa di Benin in Nigeria and appointed him Titular Bishop of Parlais . He was ordained bishop on November 9, 1902, by Jean Martin Adam , Vicar Apostolic of Gabon . Co -consecrators were Louis-Auguste Dartois , Vicar Apostolic of Dahomey , and Maximilien Albert , Vicar Apostolic of Gold Coast . After almost ten years of service, Lang died in January 1912 at the age of 43.
