Joseph Albert Hautle (born October 28, 1841 in Appenzell ; † June 27, 1912 there , Catholic , resident in Appenzell) was a Swiss politician (Catholic-Conservative) .

Life

Joseph Albert Hautle was born on October 28, 1841 in Appenzell as the son of the doctor , imperial bailiff, ensign and governor Johann Ulrich Hautle and Francisca Rosa, born Hersche. Between 1870 and 1903, Hautle worked as a landlord at the Rössli Steinegg whey and spa facility. He then acted as district commander. He was also employed as an insurance agent between 1882 and 1885 .

He was married to Josefa Emilia nee Enzler. Joseph Albert Hautle died on June 27, 1912, four months before the age of 71 in Appenzell. His son was the entrepreneur and lawyer Gustav Adolf Albert Hautle .

Political career

Hautle, initially a member of the Liberals , switched to the Conservatives at the end of the 1870s . Hautle then acted as district judge between 1879 and 1881, as president since 1880, and as cantonal judge between 1881 and 1882. Subsequently, Hautle was a witness from 1882 to 1902 and 1905 to 1910, corresponding to the military director of the cantonal government of Appenzell Innerrhoden . In addition, Hautle was elected to the Council of States in 1890 , but lost re-election to his challenger Johann Baptist Edmund Dähler in 1893 .

Joseph Albert Hautle emerged as a promoter of the school system . In addition, he made great contributions to the military, although he had an extremely difficult position in this regard. In “Appenzeller Volksfreund” , Hautle was characterized as a “man of principle, faithful to the principles of his Catholic Church, a worthy civil servant and a good-natured husband and father” politician.
