Joseph Anton Messmer
Joseph Anton Meßmer (born October 17, 1829 in Röhrnbach ; † December 23, 1879 ) was a German archaeologist .
Life
He completed his doctorate in 1854. He was ordained priest in 1855. After completing his habilitation in Munich in 1856 , he became professor extraordinary for Christian archeology there in 1866 . After Vatican I he joined the Old Catholic Church . His estate came to the archive of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck through his student Theodor Hach .
