Joseph Dergham (born April 23, 1930 in Ebrine , Lebanon , † October 28, 2015 ) was the Maronite Bishop of Cairo .

Life

Joseph Dergham was ordained a priest in the Maronite Church united with the Roman Catholic Church on April 12, 1959.

On June 5, 1989 he was appointed Bishop of the Cairo Eparchy of the Maronites by Pope John Paul II . He was ordained bishop on September 16, 1989 by the Patriarch of the Maronites of Lebanon , Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir ; Co-consecrators were his predecessor Joseph Merhi and Georges Abi-Saber , auxiliary bishop in Antioch . His resignation was on September 18, 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI. granted.
