The Joseph Dresselhaus GmbH & Co. KG is a wholesale distributor of fasteners and fastening technology based in the East Westphalian town of Herford .

history

In 1950 Joseph Dresselhaus founded the company as a sole proprietorship in Bielefeld . In 1972, in addition to Munich screw trading GmbH with offices in Munich and Nuremberg , the company also acquired Siegfried von Streit from Nuremberg and Hermann Hahn GmbH with headquarters in Bückeburg .

After Heinrich Dresselhaus took over the management of the company in 1977, just one year later he became the managing, personally liable partner of the company.

In 1979, the Stuttgart screw trade was founded in Remshalden . This has been continued as a branch in Urbach near Stuttgart since 1992 . The Munich screw trade in Nuremberg became the first branch in Schwabach near Nuremberg in 1981. 1985 Dresselhaus Systeme Lemgo was founded. A short time later, in 1987, the Munich screw trade became the Maisach branch near Munich. Just two years later, in 1989, the “Dresselhaus Packing” packaging company opened in Herford- Elverdissen . With the new building for administration and logistics in Herford- Diebrock , the company's headquarters were relocated from Bielefeld to Herford.

The international expansion of the company began with the establishment of a foreign company in Turkey in 2008. As a result, a foreign subsidiary was established in France in 2011 and in Russia in 2013. With the completion of the logistics center in Lemgo- Lieme , the company's trading department was given a new location.

On January 22nd, 2020 it became known that the four owner families wanted to sell the company to the Dutch industrial holding company Nimbus. The takeover has yet to be approved by the relevant antitrust authorities in Germany and Turkey.

Delivery program

Dresselhaus supplies customers from a wide variety of industries, including furniture manufacturers as well as the automotive supply industry and agricultural machinery manufacturers as well as the wood and metal processing industry. In addition, the company supplies hardware retailers, hardware stores and building materials dealers, as well as the automotive parts and electrical installation wholesalers.

Dresselhaus offers a wide range of products from the areas of fasteners, fastening technology, furniture and fittings technology as well as small electrical parts. In addition to standard articles, Dresselhaus also supplies special and custom-made parts exactly according to customer specifications. In addition to C-parts products, the company also offers logistics systems for C-parts management and a packaging company in Elverdissen.
