Diebrock is a district of the district town of Herford in the East Westphalian district of Herford in the administrative district of Detmold in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is located west of the Herford city center. Diebrock has 2024 inhabitants. (As of December 31, 2015)

Neighboring communities

Diebrock borders in the north on the Herford district Herringhausen -West and in the east on the Radewiger Feldmark of the core city of Herford. In the southeast, the Aa forms the border with the Elverdissen district . Herford- Stedefreund is in the south and Herford- Eickum in the west .

history

Diebrock was first mentioned in writing in 1191 as Thibroke .

Until the local reform on December 31, 1968 Diebrock belonged to the office of Herford-Hiddenhausen in the Herford district . On January 1, 1969, it was incorporated into the then independent city of Herford, which in turn was incorporated into the Herford district.

landscape

Diebrock is not very heavily populated and is therefore rural. Several streams flow through it, so that there are no large elevations there.

Not far from Laarer Straße are the Bexterhöfe, which are the venue for the German Friendships international children's equestrian tournament .

At the corner of Hausheider Strasse and Junkerweg is the Diebrock cemetery with an old and a new part. Both areas are divided into different departments with elective graves, row graves, lawn row graves with grave slabs, nursing row graves and anonymous row graves.

school

In August 2009, the private elementary school “Das Researcherhaus” was opened in a former municipal primary school on Hausheider Strasse. It pursues a special educational concept. 21 children were registered for the joint first and second school class.

There is a municipal sports field next to the school.

Since September 2013, the sponsors of the research house have also run a day-care center in the city center.

Volunteer firefighter

Since 2015, the fire station of the Diebrock fire brigade of the volunteer fire department of the city of Herford has been on Zeppelinstrasse. The Diebrock fire fighting group and the Elverdissen fire fighting group belong to the Herford Süd fire fighting train.

In the south-west, federal road 61 and the Hamm – Minden railway line run parallel to the Aa through the district.

After the incorporation, the city of Herford created the Diebrock industrial park with Zeppelinstrasse on both sides of Laarer Strasse. The following companies have now settled there:

The Herford letter center on Bielefelder Strasse was opened in 1996 and is responsible for postal routing regions 32 and 33. The Bielefeld parcel center has also been managed from there since 2007 .

The Ahlers company operates a goods and distribution center at the confluence of Laarer Strasse and Bielefelder Strasse .
