history

Stedefreund was first mentioned in writing in 1151 as Cisebrac . Until December 31, 1968 Stedefreund belonged to the office of Herford-Hiddenhausen in the Herford district . On January 1, 1969, it was incorporated into the then independent city of Herford, which in turn was incorporated into the Herford district.

The B 61 runs through Stedefreund from Bielefeld to Herford. At the western city limits, the Stedefreunder Straße connects Bielefeld-Brake with the Herford districts of Laar and Eickum .

A bus line connects the district with Herford, Bielefeld-Brake and Schildesche ( Stadtbahn ). Since Stedefreund borders directly on Brake, the Brake train station (near Bielefeld) is a short distance away. Nils Stedefreund

The Bielefeld-born author at the time, Jochen Greve, was suggested by the Herford district as the name for the detective Nils Stedefreund , who played in the Bremen crime scene series . In an interview with Radio Bremen he said: When it came to giving the “child” a name, “Stedefreund” came to my mind pretty quickly. Because, as Oliver Mommsen later suspected, Inga is always a friend. But the truth is, that is the name of a small suburb on the street where I was born and where my mother still lives today. Stedefreund is just a little bit a "baby" of mine.
