Joseph Helffrich

Joseph Helffrich (born January 12, 1890 in Mannheim as Josef Helffrich ; † December 26, 1971 in Mannheim-Neckarau ) was a German astronomer .

Life

Helffrich was a son of the businessman Christian Helffrich. He studied at the University of Heidelberg , received his doctorate there in 1913 and worked for the State Observatory Heidelberg-Königstuhl .

Helffrich discovered the following asteroids , among others :

All asteroids are in the object of the so-called main belt . The asteroid (2290) Helffrich was named after him.
