Joseph Miroslav Weber
Joseph Miroslav Weber (born November 9, 1854 in Prague , † January 1, 1906 in Munich ) was a Czech composer , violinist and organist .
Life
Weber studied violin and organ in his native Prague. He took up his first position in 1873 in the court orchestra of Sondershausen . Just two years later, in 1875, he became court concertmaster in Darmstadt. Another station in his career was the royal chapel in Wiesbaden in 1883, where he worked as music director from 1889 until he switched to the Munich court orchestra in 1894. From 1901 he held the post of 1st concert master there.
In 1898 he won first prize in a competition of the Prague Chamber Music Society for his string quintet in D major for two violins, viola and two cellos.
