Joseph Soueif

Joseph Soueif (born July 14, 1962 in Chekka , Lebanon ) is Maronite Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Cyprus .

Life

Joseph Soueif was born in the Lebanese city of Chekka and grew up in northern Lebanon , in the Batrun (district) with the main town of the same name, Batrun . For priests Souif was ordained at twenty-five on 3 September 1987th

The appointment as Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Cyprus took place on October 29th, 2008. The episcopal ordination took place on December 6th, 2008 by the Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and the whole East , Nasrallah Pierre Sfeir , as main consecrator and the Archbishops Boutros Gemayel and Georges Bou-Jaoudé , who acted as co-consecrators took place.

On October 11, 2018, Pope Francis also appointed him Apostolic Visitator for the Maronite believers living in Greece.
