Josepha Reh
Josepha Reh , married Josepha Conti (born February 17, 1825 in Munich , † November 28, 1881 ), was a Bavarian servant and beauty of the 19th century. She gained fame through her portrait in the Beauty Gallery in Nymphenburg Palace .
Life
Born in Munich as the eldest daughter of the domestic worker Michael Reh, she married the 45-year-old painter Anton Conti in 1840 at the age of 15. They lived on Brienner Strasse in Munich near the royal residence . King Ludwig I of Bavaria got to know her, had her portrayed by Joseph Karl Stieler and in 1844 included the portrait in his gallery of beauties. Her husband had left her in 1845, so she worked as a canvas maker for the royal court from 1850 to 1852. In 1856 she married Anton Schirsner, district councilor in the Au district of Munich , with whom she had a child.
