Josephine Schefsky
Josephine Schefsky , also Josefine Schefzky (1843 or 1846 - November 11, 1912 in Munich ) was a German theater actress and opera singer ( alto ).
Life
Schefsky made his debut at the Munich Court Theater on March 30, 1868 as " Orpheus ", remained there from 1871 to 1879 and sang the role of "Amneris" there on May 13, 1877 at the first performance of " Aida ". After she had played her splendid alto voice on other well-known stages in Germany, she withdrew completely from the theater and moved to Munich. Parts like “ Fidès ”, “ Azucena ”, “ Frau Reich ”, “ Gertrude ” etc. were excellent performances by this artist.
