Josh Haden

Josh Haden (* 1968 in New York ) is an American musician. He is the founder, singer, composer and bassist of the band Spain and the son of Charlie Haden .

Career

Haden grew up in Los Angeles. He is the older brother of the triplet daughters Petra Haden ( That Dog , Foo Fighters , The Decemberists , Sean Lennon ), Rachel Haden ( That Dog , The Rentals ) and Tanya Haden ( Silversun Pickups , Let's Go Sailing ), born in 1971 married the singer Jack Black .

In 1993 he founded the band Spain , whose first album Blue Moods of Spain from 1995 was widely recognized. The band toured the US, Europe and Australia. He was also a member of Handsome Boy Modeling School where he sang a duet with Sean Lennon .

His most recent projects were the EP Light of Day in 2004 and his debut solo LP in 2007. His song Spiritual from the album Blue Moods of Spain has been covered several times, for example by Johnny Cash , Soulsavers , Midnight Choir and the duo Pat Metheny and his father Charlie Haden on the instrumental album Beyond the Missouri Sky (Short Stories) .
